My Creative Process
Throughout this semester, I have grown and developed as an artist while making progress for my Capstone project. In particular, I have made modifications to my creative process and learned how I can maximize my time to think of and execute my ideas. For example, I combined two of the creativity booster strategies to see how it would affect my process: “sleeping on it” and taking a Schultz hour. I spent a good amount of time right before bed, thinking about my project and letting my brain wander. This helped to develop the storyline in my animation and add in details that would strengthen the message. Another strategy that helped me to figure out when my creativity is most active was the Pomodoro method. I worked in 30 minute blocks and took 10 minute breaks, which led me to the conclusion that my brain works best when I have long periods of work time where I can relax after I’m finished instead of taking breaks. Trying that technique was not successful, but it helped me to better understand my creative process.
